JUDGING CRITERIA:
  • Appearance: Costumes, uniforms, overall appearance
  • Showmanship: Crowd appeal, talent, enthusiasm, personality
  • Creativity: Craftsmanship and construction, uniqueness
  • All participants will receive wristbands 
  • The winners of each parade category will receive a trophy
  • Announcements will be made at the festival at 7:30 pm

YOUTH BAND COMPETITION
If you are a school band, marching band, or youth band, this is your time to shine!!

Within the Parade, we will have a youth band competition and an opportunity to win a cash prize! Anyone can attend.

Stipends for attendance: 8 groups will be selected to receive stipends of $1,500. Stipends will be disbursed upon attendance. Selection for stipends will be based on organization size (20 member minimum), travel considerations, and any other overhead costs that may be associated.

Cash prizes:
  • 1st Place: $5000.00
  • 2nd Place: $2,500.00
  • 3rd Place: $1,500.00
YOUTH BIKE PARADE
If you are 12 years old or younger, have a bike, and want to dress it up in some 4th of July gear, this is the spot for you!

Cash prizes:
  • 1st Place: $300.00
  • 2nd Place: $200.00
  • 3rd Place: $100.00
Parade Route & Rules
  • Parade Route: Beginning on Coloma Road at Cordova Lane, the parade proceeds west to Chase Drive and left on Rinda Drive. Parents should plan to pick up their children at Cordova Gardens Elementary School following the parade. The parade will NOT enter Hagan Park. Total distance is 1.5 miles. Bring water!
  • Vehicles: Must meet all road safety and traffic laws (police will be present). Clear vision for driver is required. NO MINORS ON MOTOR BIKES; NO GO CARTS.
  • Size: Maximum 12 feet high, 10 feet wide. Regardless of size, must be safe to operate. Parade must be kept moving in order to meet permit requirements. NO STOPPING.
Total distance is about 1.5 miles. Bring water!
 
A judge's reviewing stand will be set up near Casa Coloma Convalescent Home. There, parade-watchers will be able to catch the quick presentations some participants provide.
