4th of July PARADE

 July 4 at 10:00 am - Coloma Rd. 

We’re Marching on!


Lather on some sunscreen, dust off the lawn chair, and head over to Coloma Road. It’s time for the Rancho Cordova 4th of July Parade! Rancho Cordova’s parade is famous for its hometown flavor. So don’t be surprised if you see your next door neighbor decked out in a wacky Uncle Sam get-up for the trip down Coloma.

  • Parade entry applicants are subject to approval and classification by Parade Organizers.
  • Entries will be capped at 100.

  • Feb. 15 - May 31: $30
  • June 1 - June 26: $40

Parade Route and Rules (map below)

  1. Parade Route: Beginning on Coloma Road at Cordova Lane, the parade proceeds west to Chase Drive and left on Rinda Drive. Parents should plan to meet their children at Cordova High School Performing Arts Center parking lot to pick up. Access to the offload for all vehicles will close at 8:00am - please review your confirmation email on where to park prior to this closure. The parade will NOT enter Hagan Park. Total distance is 1.5 miles. Bring water! 
  2. Vehicles: Must meet all road safety and traffic laws (police will be present). Clear vision for driver is required. NO MINORS ON MOTOR BIKES; NO GO CARTS.
  3. Size: Maximum 12 feet high, 10 feet wide. Regardless of size, must be safe to operate.
  4. NO STOPPING: Parade must be kept moving in order to meet permit requirements.

Guidelines Overview - All Entries

  1. Check-in Booth opens at 7:30 a.m. & closes at 8:30 a.m. All groups must be checked in before 8:30 am. Parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m.
  2. FORWARD motion must be maintained throughout the parade route.
  3. All participants must be appropriately dressed and are encouraged to wear 4th of July themed clothing. Have fun with your outfit!
  4. No throwing of any items from the vehicle is permitted. You are welcome to hand out items from the ground, however no toys, candy, coupons, or other items are allowed to be thrown from your float. This is to avoid any harm to our guests. No mylar balloons are allowed.
  5. You must stay on your float at all time. You are not permitted to jump on and off of your float for any reason. 
  6. No shooting of firearms, no sirens or other loud noises that interfere with other units will be permitted. Noise levels of each entry should be so that each entry can be heard. NO vehicle honking is permitted.

  Participant Summary

  • Roads Closed: Coloma and side streets close at 8:00 am
  • Parade Check in: 7:30-8:30am at assigned staging areas
  • Limited Participant Parking: In neighborhoods & staging areas
  • Bus, Trailer, & Additional Parking: Cordova High School Parking lots. Exit when road opens
  • Pick up after Parade: From Cordova High School Performing Arts Center parking lot, exit onto Rinda Dr, right down Dawes Street. Larger vehicles will not be permitted to leave the offload area until the parade is closed. 
  • Roads Opened: Immediately after parade (noon)

Staging Area & Day of Logistics

  • Check-in: You will need to check in between 7:30-8:30 am. All groups must be checked in before 8:30 am. You will be notified on your exact checkin time via email.
  • Where: You will be assigned a staging area 1 week prior to the 4th of July. Please look for an email regarding where you are to check in.
  • Note: Coloma Rd, between McGregor and Chase, will be closed beginning at 8:00 am. Please arrive early.
