A Celebration 20 Years in the Making

The City of Rancho Cordova celebrates 20 years of cityhood with events that bring to life "20 Years, A Million Dreams." We invite you to share in this one-of-a-kind celebration that will take place June 30 - July 3.


Cityhood for Rancho Cordova was a citizen-driven, grassroots effort to shape local destiny, and it started with a million dreams for what a new city could be. Twenty years later, we celebrate all that the city has become and all that the future holds with magical events that remind us that with imagination and lofty dreams, the sky is the limit!

Rancho Cordova's history dates from the Gold Rush to Mather Air Force Base, to Aerojet and the Space Race, to the 20 years since cityhood. In 2023, we celebrate cityhood and the community that lives and works here, and the million dreams of those who shaped Rancho Cordova into the city it is today. Experience this historical exhibit that celebrates the rich history of Rancho Cordova. 20th Anniversary “Musical Million Dreams” Concert – FREE
Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m.
Cordova High Performing Arts Center, 2239 Chase Drive

Celebrate an artful evening of the city's 20 years of cityhood. The evening will start with a one hour concert featuring the 'Element Brass Band' and then world renowned speed painter David Garibaldi will paint three paintings live on stage. Food trucks, ice cream, and Rancho Cordova Arts will be at the park so bring your chairs or a blanket and enjoy the evening.

Enjoy a 20th Anniversary tribute to our city with a walk down memory lane, cupcakes and a special toast at the July 3rd City Council Meeting. Following the City Council Meeting, a street train will take honored guests down to Hagan Community Park where the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Celebration takes on the "20 Years: A  Million Dreams" theme.

Enjoy the 20th Anniversary Show at Hagan Park! Tickets for this event are $5 in advance online or $10 at the gate. Carnival ride tickets are $30 in advance online or at KP Market, and $40 at the gate. Parking is $10, cash only onsite. With your event ticket comes hot air balloon rides, a fireworks and drone show, concert and more! All-America Mile Run
Tuesday, July 4 at 9 a.m.
Start is at Coloma Road and McGregor Dr.

Join us at 9 a.m. for the Million Dreams All-America Mile Run! This one-mile run is a great way for both competitive runners, as well as families, kids and adults, to see how fast they can run. The run will begin at Coloma Road and McGregor Drive and head southwest down Coloma Road finishing in front of the Mills Middle School bus loop. Runners are encouraged to wear festive attire as they are cheered on by hundreds of parade spectators. CLICK HERE to register and learn more.

Fourth of July Parade - FREE

Join us at 10 a.m. for the Million Dreams Fourth of July Parade. The parade will feature more than 75 entries, including eight high school marching bands, the Million Dreams train, and more to make it the most patriotic parade in the region. Sign up and learn more.
